Bird Profiles

The basic bird profiles were primarily written by Dan Reinking. Dan works for the George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center and is past president of the Oklahoma Ornithological Society.

Some profiles were written and/or edited by Sam Crowe.

The Bent Life History series was originally published by the Smithsonian, from the 1920s until the 1950s.

The animated range maps were developed by Birdzilla using a range of resources, including previously licensed maps from Lanius Software as well as breeding bird range maps and Christmas Bird Count range maps.
